Setting up your Process Journal

The process journal is an essential part of the Media Course. With out documentation of your creative process and explanations of how you met the MYP criteria you cannot receive the highest marks in the class.
In Media since we deal with video and audio recordings we will be keeping our PJ online using google sites. Setting up your PJ in the proper way and using constant naming conventions is essential for organising your work.

The teacher will call you individually over to create your Google Sites PJ.

While that is being done follow the steps below to set up your PJ and complete the tasks to ensure you have the skills to document your process.
  1. Create a Folder in your school Google Drive. Title it MediaPJ.(Your First Name.Your Last Name.Graduation Year) Example: MediaPJ.Elmer.fud USE THE NAME YOU WILL BE CALLED
  2. Share that folder with the teacher.
  3. With In that folder create a subfolder called introduction.
  4. If you have data on you smartphone install google drive from your app store and sign in with your school email
  5. Create a document in the introduction folder titled (Your First Name.Your Last Name.Graduation Year)myfavouritefilm Example: james.hadley.1992.myfavouritefilm
  6. Choose your favourite film of all time and write at least a paragraph on why you think that it is the best film ever. Find a trailer to the film on Youtube and paste the URL into the document.
  7. Go to Vimeo, find a video tutorial on a topic in film making that is interesting to you. Paste the URL into the myfavoritefilm document
  8. Working in pairs use a cell phone or computer camera to create a short (30 Second) introduction of yourself and upload it into the introduction folder of google drive.
  9. Take a still picture of yourself using a cellphone or computer camera and load that into the introduction folder on google drive
  10. At this point the teacher should be done setting up your sign up on google classroom and complete the first assignment.

At this point you may start editing your site complete the following tasks on the About Me Page

  1. On the About Me Page change the picture to your own.
  2. On the About Me Page change the Text to be about you
  3. On the About Me Page embed your 30 second introduction video
  4. On the About Me Page paste in your text on your favourite film
  5. On the About Me Page embed the Youtube Video of your film.

Change the navigation headings and clear the pages

  1. The headings are: About Me, Unit 1 [unit title], Unit 2, Unit 3, Past Years, Useful Links
  2. Clear pages of the former text.
  3. Go to Useful Links change the page template to an announcement.
  4. Create a announcement called [todays date] Test. Example 8.19.15 Test.
  5. embed the myfavoritefilm document into this announcement.
  6. create a new announcement date and title it to correspond with your Vimeo link(EX. 8.19.15 Rack Focus Tutorial)
  7. embed the Vimeo video into that announcement.
